Frequently Asked Questions

When it comes to choosing the best stone to put around a pool, marble, travertine, and limestone are three great options. These materials are known for their durability, beauty, and versatility, making them ideal for pool surrounds. There is not much difference between them when it comes to longevity and maintenance. The choice between them comes down to personal preference, design, and budget.

There are a few different types of edge (aka. coping edge) that we can supply to you. The options are:

  • Drop Edge
  • Pencil Edge
  • Bullnose
  • Bevel
  • Tumbled.

Keep in mind that selecting one of these is not necessary and your pavers can be, and frequently are, installed with their natural edge.

This depends on the stone and the application. Most pool pavers can be sealed but it may not be optimal for the application.

The most common base for paving is a concrete slab or a cement-based tile screed over concrete. Pavers can also be installed on a mud mix or sand paving however these are less popular as they do not have the structural longevity as a direct stick onto concrete.
